What are the rules and regulations of domain transfer:
Some of the rules and regulations of transferring a domain are:
You cannot transfer a domain name that has been registered or previously transferred within the last 60 days.
You need to ensure that the email address of the administrative contact of your domain name at your current registrar is correct. We would be required to contact you at this address and make a request for approval of the transfer.
After we have notified you that the transfer is completed, you must log in to your account and verify the contact information for your domain. Inaccurate or incomplete contact data may result in the cancellation of your domain name.
If the domain name is locked, the transfer will not be accomplished. So, you will first need to contact your current Registrar in order to unlock your domain name.

How long will it take to transfer a domain ?
Ans. It usually takes around 7 to 15 days to transfer depend on the status of a domain..

Will my name and contact information be publicly available ?
Yes, information about who owns the particular website and domain name is publicly available only to allow rapid resolution of technical problems and to permit enforcement of consumer protection, trademark, and other laws. The registrar will make this information available to the public on a "Whois" site.

Someone else is already using the domain name I want. Is there anything I can do?
Once a domain name is registered, it belongs to the person or company that registered it. If you are really interested in having a domain name that is already registered to someone else, you can contact the owner of the domain name to find out if the name is for sale or you can wait for the registration to expire.

What kinds of things should I consider when choosing a domain name?
Because your domain name will represent your business, you should make sure that the name you choose is memorable, descriptive and that it instills confidence, particularly if you plan on selling goods and services on your site.

Your domain name can be up to 67 characters long and can include any combination of letters, numbers and dashes (although it cannot start or end with a dash). A domain name must end with a domain extension, such as .net, .com, .org or .co.uk. The letters “www” at the beginning of a name are not considered part of the domain name.

How long will it take for my transfer to be processed?
Transferring a domain name to another registrar can take 5 to 14 days. Once you submit your request for transfer through Customer AccountManager, PakExperts sends an email message to the Administrative Contact listed on the Whois record for your domain name requesting authorization for the registrar transfer. The Administrative Contact has 14 days to respond to the email message.
Once the Administrative Contact authorizes the registrar change, it takes 5 to 7 days to process the request. If the Administrative Contact does not authorize the request or does not respond by the deadline, the transfer process will be canceled.

What happens to my domain name during a domain name registration transfer?
Until the domain name registration process completes, nothing will happen to your domain name registration. As long as you remain current with your billing with your current registrar, there will be no service interruption. However, if your domain name expires after you have requested the transfer but before the transfer completes, you will need to renew your service with your current registrar to ensure your domain name remains yours.

What is a redemption period?
When your domain name expires, you generally have 5 to 10 days to bring your billing up-to-date with your current registrar. After this grace period, your domain name enters what is termed a "redemption period." During this time, no action can be taken on your domain name. In order to re-activate your domain, you must pay a fee to your current registrar. This fee typically ranges from $135 to $150. If your domain name is currently in the redemption period, you should contact your current registrar for details.

What is a "registrar lock"?
When you register a domain name, you can request what is known as a "lock" on your domain name. A lock prevents contact information from being made publicly available. If your domain name has a lock on it, you must first contact your current registrar and request that the lock be removed. Once the lock has been removed, PakExperts can initiate the domain name registration transfer for you.

What is a Whois record?
A Whois record indicates who owns a particular domain name and provides contact information for the owner. The Whois record is public record, as mandated by ICANN, the governing body that regulates the domain name registration space.
